What is the latest version of GIT compatible with Bitbucket 5.10.0?

I'm wondering what is the latest version of GIT that is compatible with v5.10.0 of Bitbucket?

Hi Harry,

Please have a look at the Supported platforms page. The page lists Git – server 2.16+ as the latest compatible version.

Hi Dick -- thanks for the pointer.   Just curious though -- the latest version of GIT is 2.18;  any idea if there's any risk of running GIT 2.18 with this older version of bitbucket?   If there is some risk, we'll just default to 2.16 as the latest supported version.    thanks!

Hi Harry,

Bitbucket Server 5.10.0 has not been explicitly tested with Git versions newer than 2.16.1.

It might work just fine, but you could also encounter problems. I strongly recommend choosing a Git version from the supported range.

Alternatively, you could consider upgrading to Bitbucket Server 5.13, which does support Git 2.18+.
