Run bitbucket server parallel to other elasticsearch instances

Armin Pagel April 26, 2018

Hello,

I want to move our bitbucket server onto a server where an instance of jama (https://www.jamasoftware.com/) is already running.

Jama also uses ElasticSearch (ES) and when I try to start the new installation of bitbucket server there are several exceptions in the ES instance thrown.

If there are issues and the two ES using products may collide, could you please provide me a solution for this ?

Maybe it´s possible to start multiple ES instances and separate them or does BB server need to be virtualized? Or do I need a container solution like docker ?

Best regards,

Armin

Hi Armin,

What kind of exceptions or issues do you run into? Bitbucket's embedded Elasticsearch installation runs on port 7992, instead of the default Elasticsearch port of 9200, explicitly to avoid conflicts with other Elasticsearch instances. Understanding what your issue is might help to advise you further.

Cheers,

Dave
