Hi,
My group is fairly new to Bitbucket, we're still getting up to speed. I was recently asked if there was any way to download a tarball or a zip file directly from a repo stored in Bitbucket. Web searches indicated that there should be a "Download" selection available at the top view for each repo but in our install I'm not seeing that (see below).
Is there a setting we're missing? I'd like to enable this capability on all repos we place on the site.
Thanks!
Hi Jonathan, you can use bitbucket archive plugin for downloading a repository. this plugin will add that feature you are looking for.
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.stash.plugin.stash-archive/server/overview
It's on the commit drilldown page.
Click on "commits" and then choose the commit you want to download the sources for. Click on its commit-id.
Once there, look for the link that says, "Download This Commit" on the far-right of the screen.
e.g. this page: http://vm.bit-booster.com/bitbucket/projects/BB/repos/b/commits/a95f4e6c4f2d4f77293ba84ce56e94904b9ac289
(But that server is not on Bitbucket 5.1.x or newer yet, so you won't see it there! On Bitbucket 5.1.x instances that's where it will be.)

Hi Jonathan,
Which version of Bitbucket Server are you running? (You should be able to see this in the footer of the page). The download option was adding in Bitbucket Server 5.1.0 see BSERV-2732 for the specific feature request.
If you're on an older version (which judging from your screenshot you could be on 5.0), you can download the Archive add-on to achieve similar functionality - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.stash.plugin.stash-archive/server/overview

Yes, it would appear that I need to upgrade the server. Thanks much!
