received this error when git merge in terminal did not finish and now there seems to be a lock that won't let me push/do merge because of this error.

fatal: cannot lock ref 'HEAD': Unable to create 'C:/Users//.git/HEAD.lock': File exists.

Another git process seems to be running in this repository, e.g.
an editor opened by 'git commit'. Please make sure all processes
are terminated then try again. If it still fails, a git process
may have crashed in this repository earlier:
remove the file manually to continue.

What do you suggest?

Hi @Erik_Lopez, welcome to the community!

As we need to access this repository to analyze this lock file, I have created an internal ticket for you using the email of your community account.

You should have received an email with a link to the support ticket. Just in case you haven't received it, please feel free to let me know and I can post the ticket URL here. The ticket will be visible only to you and Atlassian staff, no one else can view its contents even if they have the URL.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Caroline
