Rest API - Issues - Add Metadatas ?

alexis-magina August 25, 2018

Hello,

I don't think its possible, but prefers to ask to the community : I'm building a plugin which allow to read/post issues, using Bitbucket's Rest API.

Is there a way to read/post custom metadatas to issues ?
(I wanted to add custom fields, for example, due-date, development time, related issues...)

If I understood your question right, you are asking whether we can set values for custom fields using ReST API. And the answer is yes. The custom field should be available in the create screen of the issue type and you can make use of the following link reference to achieve it.

Kindly let me know if you face any issues.

Hi, thank you for your answer,

I checked your link but it seems that this concerns the Jira Rest API, and this metadata fields doesn't seems to be available only on Bitbucket's API.

I wondering if it was possible to attach metadatas to a bitbucket issue without needing a Jira account. I don't think it's possible, (and it's probably normal because Jira seems more appropriate to do this - as a complete project manager tool).

Can you confirm ?

Hey @alexis-magina, my bad! I did not notice the tag.

It is not possible to do this is BitBucket out of the box. Can give a try to see if there are plugins that can do this.
