Users cannot receive invite emails from Bitbucket cloud

I cannot invite a new user to my Bitbucket organisation.

I went to User Groups > Add members, and i added the email to all the user groups. However the user did not receive an email.

I have:

  • Verified the email is correct
  • Tried to resend the invite multiple times
  • Checked spam folders
  • Waited 24 hours for the email.

Hey  @Zia Siddique ,

Welcome to community…

The user account  has not received invitations due to unsubscribing from Atlassian emails or product invitations. This setting blocks all emails from Atlassian, including important invitations.
Please follow the steps below to subscribe to Atlassian Emails please

Step 1: Ask the user to Check Email Preferences

  1. Log in to Atlassian Account:

    • Click on your avatar in the top right corner.

    • Select Account settings from the dropdown menu

  2. Navigate to Email Preferences:

    • Click on the Email tab within your account settings.

    • Click the link to the email preferences center.

  3. Adjust Email Preferences:

    • In the Product Surveys and Invitations section, ensure that Product Invitations is selected.        

Step 2: As Workspace Admin, create a New Invitation for the user

Once the email preferences have been updated, the workspace administrator needs to:

  1. Cancel the current invitation. ( Go to the group Developer and cancel the invite)

  2. Send a new invitation to trigger a fresh invitation email.

     

    Additional Tips

    • Ensure that the invitation email is not being filtered into the spam or junk mail folders.

    • The following information can help identify the invitation email: 

      • Email Subject: "...invited you to join the <workspaceID> workspace on Bitbucket"

      • Email Sender: noreply+377c008@id.atlassian.net (Example only)

      • Email Body: "...invited you to join the <workspaceID> workspace on Bitbucket"

    • Allowlist the following IP address:

      • 216.221.175.128/25

      • 76.223.147.128/25

Hi Zia, thanks for raising this problem as I also faced this several times with my users.

To resolve this problem, you need to ask user to verify these checkboxes -> Bitbucket setting page > Atlassian account settings > Email > Product Surveys and Invitation should be checked (skip survey if you want).

Then try to resend the invite and the user shall receive it.
