Webpage takes long time to load

Hi,

When accessing a repository with a large 50Mb file the server takes a long time to respond. Once the page is loaded the file downloads is very quickly. 

I`m guessing Bitbucket is downloading the file whilst the page loads. Is there a way not to get it to download and show the webpage instantly?

I would suggest that you work with your admin and take a look at what is happening on the server when you access the repo.  It could be rate limiting or you need to optimize your instance.  Here is some information to help you out.
