Our self-hosted Bitbucket runners are pretty much the last tools that still require OpenJDK 11. We would like to get rid of that.

17/21 have been out for quite some time. 25 was just released.

When can we expect an update to the runners so that higher versions are supported?

The required version is specified here: Runners | Bitbucket Cloud | Atlassian Support

Hey @David Frenzel

Welcome to the community!

Currently, Bitbucket Pipelines self-hosted runners require OpenJDK 11 (11.0.15 or newer) as the minimum supported Java version on the host machine. At this time, support for OpenJDK 17 or higher has not yet been announced or rolled out for Bitbucket Cloud runners.

To keep up to date with any changes or release please make sure to check our blog

Yes, I was aware of these things. Are these community posts relayed to the development teams or is there a better place to post enhancement requests?
