Your workspace has exceeded the 1 GB limit and has been placed in read-only mode

I'm being prevented from pushing new commits to a repository because it has supposedly exceeded the size limits.

 

The repository details screen is showing 1.91 GB as the size but locally it is less than 600MB. The commit history was rewritten in April and there have been several pushes since then but the size is still displaying the old value

Hi John,

We announced some time ago changes to the Free plan via blog post and email which included limiting the size of workspaces to 1GB - you may read more about this below:

I've just executed a garbage collection against that large repository and this has reduced the size down from 1.9GB to 15MB. Your workspace is now below the workspace size limit and you should be able to push without issue.

Hi Ben, is that garbage collection deployable by us as well. I also wanted to use it in some of my projects and see if it helps with the size limit.
