the project <repo_url_redacted> it around 1GB but on git storage shows as 2.6GB. can you run GC on this repository please?
Hi @Crossbows Optical and welcome to the community!
We can run git gc on the Bitbucket repository. However, we need the request to come from a user that has access to the repo.
The Bitbucket account with the same email address as your community account doesn't have access to the repo you shared.
Can you please log in to https://community.atlassian.com/ with the same email address as the Bitbucket account that does have access to this repo, and then leave a reply below my answer, confirming the request for a git gc? I can then run it for the repo.
Just a heads up, I removed the URL from your post for privacy reasons.
Kind regards,
Theodora

Hi @Crossbows,
Thank you for your message from the account with access to the repo!
I ran a git gc on the repository and its size has been reduced. Do you see the updated size on your end?
Please keep in mind though that the total space consumed by your workspace is still over the 1 GB limit we will introduce:
You can rewrite history in the repo and either remove large files from history or move them to LFS to reduce the repo's size further. I posted an answer with detailed steps in another question, you can read it here:
If you rewrite history in the repo and push to Bitbucket, the repo will need another git gc. Please feel free to let me know and I can run it for your repo.
Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Theodora
