Can't use DASHBOARD as the typeid in config-as-code yml file

JE May 21, 2025

I create the dashboard component and then downloaded the template for the yml file, which had the type as 'DASHBOARD', however on committing and pushing we received the following error:

The most recent compass.yml had errors:

"typeId" must have a value of: SERVICE, LIBRARY, APPLICATION, CAPABILITY, CLOUD_RESOURCE, DATA_PIPELINE, MACHINE_LEARNING_MODEL, UI_ELEMENT, WEBSITE, OTHER

Has anyone run into this issue? We'd prefer to manage our component info through tracked files.

Hi, @JE1 !

The latest versions of the Compass integration with the underlying SCM do support `DASHBOARD` as a valid type. I think I may have already addressed your query in one of our other forums, but let me provide that theory here for awareness:

Is it possible that your site is running with an SCM integration (the Bitbucket, GitHub or GitLab Compass app) that has not been upgraded to the latest version? The message that you’re getting suggests that your site may not be up to the latest release. Most of them are applied automatically, but if you haven’t checked this in a while, that’s the next step that I would suggest.

If you’re a Compass admin, go to <your-site>.atlassian.net/compass/apps/manage, and find the app that you’re using to connect to your SCM. If there’s an “update” button there, press it to ensure that you get the latest Compass features available for this integration.

Let me know whether that helped!
