Documentation page observations

A few questions/observations with the Documentation page:

  1. The four categories provided seem overly prescriptive (for example we would prefer Product/Development/Support/Customer). Is there any chance of the names, or at least the descriptions, of Discover/Contributor/Maintainer/Other being made configurable?
  2. The default order of documentation is the ascending order of addition. This seems of less value than a Category or Documentation title sort.
  3. Documentation column sort doesn't work, at least with Confluence links (is it sorting on the underlying URL rather than the displayed title?)
  4. Category column sort doesn't work either
  5. Added column sort doesn't work either
  6. It would speed up document addition, especially for users not interested in categorisation, if the Add documentation dialog defaulted the category
  7. Even with category filtering, a (potentially large) link dump doesn't allow for much structuring of the information to guide a user to "where to start". Would it be possible to:
    • Allow some sort of prioritisation (starring?) of links
    • Allow entry/display of some text explaining the relevance of the link to the component
  8. As mentioned here, DOCUMENT links appear (without category) in the generated compass.yml and some, but seemingly not all, reappear when config-as-code is used. Is the backlog item to resolve this a near-term thing?

Hi there and thanks for the thorough feedback. I've passed this on to our product team.
