Is it possible to re-order Documentation links?

Keith Furnell

Are we missing something or is there really no way to re-order links added to a component's Documentation page?

  • the UI doesn't seem to provide such a facility
  • as mentioned here, changes to links of type: DOCUMENT in config-as-code are ignored

Once you have more than a few links, the absence of such a facility compounds two other short-falls identified here:

  • table sorting (e.g. by Category) is broken
  • the lack of any other way to structure documentation really limits the value of this feature

Hey @Keith Furnell ,

I don't think there's a way to manually reorder links. You can only sort them by name, category... But, as you mentioned, sorting seems to be broken > I've tested pretty much all columns, and it doesn't sort items as expected (in most cases).

This would probably result in two items:

  1. Feature suggestion for manual reordering (+1 for that from me)
  2. Bug related to link sorting

I tend to contact Support team directly and have a quick chat with them about my issues and requirements, and someone from their side usually opens items in JAC on which I can drop a vote.

If you do open a new feature and/or bug, please share the links here 🙏

Cheers,
Tobi
