The EAP experience for managing access using roles in Confluence has started rolling out!
To test the experience out:
Select Space settings.
Select Users (or in the banner announcing roles, select Manage users)
We’ve also released new role-based APIs as a part of this EAP. You can find more information on the new APIs in our changelog.
Also, don’t forget to bookmark our EAP documentation:
We’re aware of a bug associated with the following split-out permissions:
Manage space and space settings
Add, remove, or change access for users
Allow and manage public links
Add guests
Allow anonymous access
Delete space
Archive space
You don’t need to worry about the bug if you haven’t made any changes in the new experience.
But basically, you can successfully assign people these permissions; however, people assigned them may not be able to successfully access the screens in Space settings where they perform the actions associated with the permissions unless they also have the Manage space and space settings permission.
We expect to have this fixed by Monday, Nov. 25 and we’ll post a message in the Community group to confirm when it’s been fixed.
If you want to start making changes, we recommend waiting to use the Manager role or any custom access configurations that include the above permissions until the fix has landed in your experience.
We’re eager to hear your feedback and questions on the new experience. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
