All our access comes through security groups in EntraID that are added to space permissions in Confluence.
If you dont have access to something, you create a service desk ticket to request access, not through this feature. Im currently the only Confluence admin and I dont handle the access, so I have to deny these requests and im getting quite a few now.
If turning it off isnt an option, at least add a popup to send a reason why the request was denied so I can tell them to create a ticket for it instead.
What happens if CSUM is in use and the Space Admins are managed through groups there? Will they also be contacted? Or only the Space Admins listed under 'Users'?
Hi, is this documentation still up-to-date? I'm wondering if anyone request access to the space who's going to be notifyed via e-mail with this quest. Is it still the 20% of the admin users (max. 5 ppl.) rule, or is e.g. the space owner the person in charge that gets the notifications?
Thank you everyone for all of the feedback! I wanted to share that Confluence will be beginning to actively investigate the addition of the space owner capability soon, and that we currently plan to begin engineering work on it in the next 2-3 months
(In the Bundled Track, we received it on Apr 07, 2025, and as of May 12, 2025 Space owner ID is now available in API calls.)
Which is all great. Except, there is still no ability to direct Access Requests to this new space property you've created. (Which doesn't seem to have any other use.)
So uh... any chance that is that in the works? Or I guess you're focused on the new Company Hub feature?
CONFCLOUD-81442- Add ability to include Confluence site navigation on Company Hub
Now that we have Space Owner, can we please get the ability to direct Space Requests to that Space Owner.
Since Space Owner doesn't seem to have any other function, I'm thinking we can set Space Owner to a service account and jerry-rig some kind of approval system that gets triggered by emails. Fun times.
