Content in Database to be found in search

Hi,

I see that the content from Database is a type in the extended search. as far as i understand, users will need to explicitly select the type "Database" or "Database (Content)" to find content, is that correct? Is it intended, that by default for searched terms in the head menu content will also be found in Databases and not only Pages? Or at least configurable, that database content is always included in the main search?

My findings

check "Databases" > looks for the text in Database titles only

check "Databases (content)" > looks for the text in Database fields (labels is not text, excerpt content shown in fields: not searched, titles of pages in database fields are being searched) ; but,it will only show the database as one search result item, even if there are more rows/records in the database with the search term >> is confusing...

if nothing is specified in detailed search, database fields are not being searched (contrary to what I would expect), but content in pages also created through databases is being searched (as you expect of course)

> so yes, you would expect to find database / database content without specifiying "type", as is the case with all other content types too, which are marked with the type-icon in the search result list

concerning labels in database 'select fields': those are not being searched as text; but they are being searched when you use the search box above the specific database

Hey @p.borloz - that's right, currently to search for databases in the Confluence search bar, you'd need to explicitly select the type "Database". 

We're actively working on a Beta version that will allow you to search for databases by title in the Confluence search bar by default!

@Divya Sriram will the content of a database be included in the main search?  We are in the process of moving knowledge base content over to a database format but that won't work if the content of the DB won't be searchable
