Hi all,
I just realized that - at least in our instance - Smart Sections are not able to set number fields to 0. They work with every other number, but not with 0.
reproduction: configure the smart section to set a number field to 0 and drag an issue card to that section.
expected result: the value of that number field in the issue should change to 0.
actual result: the value of that number field in the issue remains unchanged, without any further note or error message.
I tried it in several whiteboards for different number fields (both system and custom fields) with issues from different projects, the results were always the same.
So, can anybody tell me whether this behaviour is intended for any reason? Or is it just a bug?
Thanks and best regards,
Stefan
Btw, clearing the field instead of updating it with 0 would also do the trick for me, would be even better to be honest. But it seems not to be possible neither.
@Em Ditchfield adding a "clear field" action to the Smart Section action dialog would be a low-hanging fruit for your list of upcoming features, wouldn't it? 😉
Hi Stefan,
That sounds like a bug. I suggest you open a support ticket with Atlassian.

Hi @John Funk
thank you, that's what I thought, and since nobody objects I'm going to raise a ticket.
