CQL now supports type=smartlink

Hello everyone! Michael from Confluence here. I am writing today to let you know that CQL (Confluence Query Language) searches now support "smartlink" as a type.

Previously, when users wanted to filter CQL search results for smart-links, they did so by indicating "type=embed".

e.g.

https://your-confluence-tenant.com/wiki/rest/api/search?cql=type=embed

The term "embed" is not intuitive to users who are accustomed to the term smart-link. Because of this, we have added "smartlink" as a searchable type in CQL. Searching by "type=smartlink" will return the same results as searching by "type=embed".

e.g.

https://your-confluence-tenant.com/wiki/rest/api/search?cql=type=smartlink

Please try it out and let us know what you think.

Best,

Michael Sommer | Confluence Software Engineer

This is a moment of vulnerability for me. I'm a very WYSIWYG user of Confluence, but would love to learn the power of CQL. Any recommendations on resources to learn from?

@Andy Gladstone let's make one before @Alex Ortiz have time to make one :)

Anything in particular you want to learn, or just a general overview of the capabilities?
