How does your Innie use Confluence?

As part of our mission to set knowledge free, Confluence sponsored the Severance podcast throughout season 2. We got to hear all about the show's behind-the-scenes makings and learn how Adam Scott and Ben Stiller stayed connected to unlock their knowledge and produce this mind-blowing show—including that jaw-dropping season finale! Test-mindblown

That got us wondering…how would Lumon Industries use Confluence? With all of Kier’s knowledge at their fingertips and collaborative spaces to connect the Innies, Confluence would be a game changer for every Macrodata Refiner.

Our Atlassian Creators community also rose to the occasion, creating scenario after scenario of how their Innies might Confluence. Check out these winning submissions!

Honorable Mention: @Raul Pelaez _TecnoFor - Marketplace Partner_ shared that his Innie organizes documentation on Confluence like a machine. 🤖

Honorable Mention: @Margo Sakova - OKR Board for Jira by Oboard agreed that while she’d take the risk of Severance in some cases, a well-organized Confluence might end the story right there.

And our winner…drumroll, please!  drum @Robert Hean depicted his Severance and how Confluence could aid in his Innie communicating with his Outie. They might not share memories, but they can still share information!

Tell us in the comments below–how does your Innie (or Outie even!) use Confluence?

And while you’re at it, don’t forget to listen to Severance podcast episodes here and watch the show on Apple TV!

It's inevitable, if the company you work for has been in businesses for a long time, the staff that was there when the company opened its doors is not the same staff that is there 50 years later.  Over the course of time, all the knowledge learned by staff is either going to be documented somewhere, or be lost to the ages.

Losing that knowledge shouldn't be the only choice, so by implementing Confluence that knowledge can be documented and shared with the entire organization and can still be organized and put to use many years later.

@Mirek what a bummer, thanks for letting me know! I believe the podcast is also available on Apple, try this: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-severance-podcast-with-ben-stiller-adam-scott/id1788381175. Hopefully that works!

If I were severed, my innie would 100% be using Confluence to figure out how to reintegrate. I'd recruit teammates to have their own spaces with their own investigations on their outies. And then, I would create a shared space for when we contribute to similar research projects, collab on theories, and plan melon and egg parties.

Basically, I'd be doing what I currently do in the Severance reddit except have a way more organized way to do it lol. Minus the party planning.

As an innie, I'd use Confluence to document my escape strategy from the severed hall. I'd take down notes on the hallway routes, my encounters with other departments, and theorize what the numbers I'm refining are for! I'd also share this page with my coworkers so we can brainstorm and collaborate together ;)

This is such an interesting concept innie vs outie. If I was stuck severed I would create two Confluence spaces, one for work and one for my personal life which will be updates at the start of each shift of the two worlds Innie/outie.

In those folders I will document how I start and end each shift listing out what I accomplished and what needs to be accomplished the next day, weeks or months depending. I would document processes at work, that worked and ones that did not. I would also document actions in my personal life and interactions with folks that were positive and ones that were negative so I can be sure to learn from them. At some point I would reach out to Atlassian's Confluence Team and ask them to create a speech to type interface as all this typing would most likely make fingers exhausted. Once I was done I would then submit this concept to the creators of the Black Mirror series and have them make an episode about this...with a twist of course.

As an innie, I'd use Confluence like a personal HQ for piecing together the mystery of my outie. I’d set up pages to track every clue—like what I’m wearing each day, weird things I overhear, recurring dreams, or even the lunch menu patterns. I’d create a shared space for others on the floor to drop their theories, make timelines, and cross-reference our collective findings.

Also, not gonna lie, I’d probably sneak in a page to log waffle party rankings. Priorities.

As an innie, I would use Confluence to track and investigate my outie. I would track everything worth tracking in my space. I would probably have an outie space and an innie space.

As an outie, I would use Confluence whiteboards to secretly embed layers of images and hidden messages to communicate with my innie. I might hide messages beneath layers of sticky notes and attach links to other locked pages to hopefully bypass the severance security system and share info discreetly. 🤫

+1 to Nicole above! As an innie, I would 100% internet stalk my outie and track all of the links, pictures, notes, etc. in a Confluence table to collect as many details as possible.

My innie would use Confluence to document his co-workers infractions. In Kier We Trust.

ha.  I love this show...

My Innie would definitely use Confluence to try and make sense of things, both personal and work-related.  Of course you'd have to restrict permissions to ensure Milchick wasn't snooping around!  Gotta keep track of all the little tidbits of knowledge you gain as each day passes...
