📣 NEW features to help you see how users are engaging with your content!

Hi Confluence community! A few months ago, we announced several redesign updates to Confluence Analytics, making it easier than ever to derive actionable insights from your Confluence data.

Building on that momentum, we’ve recently launched TWO new page analytics features to help you get a better idea of how team members are engaging with your page.

What is it?

These two new features help you take page insights and analytics to the next level:

  • Engaged views: This helps you understand how long users are viewing your content, whether they’re taking the time to consume information or leaving quickly once they landed on your page. This includes:

    • “Engaged” user: If they viewed the page for 20 seconds or longer

    • “Brief” user: If they viewed the page less than “20 seconds

  • Linked content: This helps you understand how users are navigating to your page and what other content is typically co-read with your page. This includes:

    • “Outbound links”: Shows which embedded links users typically click on your page

    • “Inbound links”: Shows data from other Confluence content that link to your page to help you understand how they landed on your page

How do I get started?

Access via page insights

Confluence Cloud customers on Standard, Premium, or Enterprise editions can view page insights summary on a specific page by clicking the chart icon on the page. This summary chart now also includes a summary of engaged views and linked content.

Access via page analytics

Confluence Cloud customers on Premium or Enterprise editions also have access to detailed page analytics. They can access page analytics by clicking “view more insights” from the page insights summary box.

Page analytics now also includes detailed data for engaged views and inbound / outbound links:

  • Engaged views: Ability to select a date range to filter views by a specific time period and see total number of engaged views on a timeline graph. Also can see the total number of views on a page, and what percentage of collective views were engaged.

  • Linked content: Ability to filter data from a specific time period, as well as access total number of clicks, the click-through rate, and more for inbound and outbound links.

Hi @Mindy Park ,
Thanks for the news, great improvement.  Regarding the inbound links:
We are working a lot with the "include page" and the "insert Excerpt" Macros. So they are viewing the content but without physically entering the page itself.
Will there be a way to know how many pages include the page in the Page Analytics, or use its excerpts?

Thanks,
Tami
