🎉 New collaboration features in Confluence Cloud!

Hi Confluence Community,

We’ve got some exciting news: starting soon we’ll begin rolling out new features and updates designed to make working with your team in Confluence a whole lot easier.

✏️ Introducing Live Docs

Say hello to Live Docs—a brand new way to work with your teammates in Confluence! Different from Pages, Live Docs let everyone see changes as they happen, so you can capture ideas, meeting notes, or feedback instantly. No need to hit “publish”—it’s all live, all the time. And if you want to turn a Live Doc into a Page (or vice versa), it’s just a click away in the “more actions” menu.

Heads up: Live Docs are open to your team by default when you create them, so everyone in your space can jump in and collaborate right away. (Pages, on the other hand, start as private drafts until you publish them.)

➡️ Click here to try out Live Docs now in your Confluence site

(Note: if this link doesn’t work for you yet, no worries, it just means your Confluence site hasn’t received these feature updates quite yet. Don’t worry, they’re coming soon!)

🌟 Updated features for smoother, more focused collaboration

We’ve also refreshed the look and feel of Confluence to make things more consistent and easier to use, no matter what you’re working on. Here’s what’s new:

Your editor toolbar at your finger tips

You now have the option to pin or unpin the editor toolbar. This allows everyone to choose their preferred look and feel, minimizing distractions or ensuring tools are readily available as needed. By default, the editor toolbar is pinned in Pages. In Live Docs, the toolbar is unpinned to support a more dynamic experience.

New floating action bar

You’ll spot a handy new bar at the bottom right of your screen—just click it for instant access to popular actions like commenting or recording a Loom video, making it super easy to engage with content quickly.

New details panel

Need details about your content? Just pop open the new details panel from the floating action bar and see everything from length to labels in one convenient spot.

Redesigned header and menus

We’ve streamlined the header and “more actions” menu so you can find options like starring content, undo/redo, and converting between Live Docs and Pages more easily.

Centralized comments

All your discussions and feedback are now in one spot, making it easier to keep track of conversations and respond faster.

🗓️ When will you see these changes?

Some Confluence sites will get these updates starting soon as part of our gradual rollout that will continue through the middle of August. Once your site has received these improvements you’ll not only get an email, but also see helpful walk-throughs once you log into Confluence.

@Abhinav Singh Thanks for the update; a lot of users have been asking "where do I find this now?"

A question about Comments: when you select a comment in the side panel, does the page scroll to the text related to the comment? If not, I would ask how to get rid of this panel.

@Barbara Szczesniak great question and the answer is YES! Clicking on a comment in the new panel auto-scrolls you to the exact place in the Page or Live Doc where that comments was left (if it was entered in-line).  The GIF below shows how that works in action:
