One of the perceived omissions on Atlassian’s Confluence Cloud is … ability to index a site manually.

You can, of course, contact Atlassian Support and they gladly oblige. I did so many times using the live chat with a live agent and it didn't take long.

However, you can trigger reindexing of your Confluence site manually… with a neat workaround.

This caught my attention the other day as I was moving a couple of spaces between our sites.

Importing a space triggers… reindexing.

The space I imported had about 25 pages. The whole process took about 5 minutes.

So I thought... what if I have a bogus Lorem Ipsum space export file ready? I'd be able to Import it, trigger reindexing, then purge the imported space whenever I need.
