Hi,
with the search macros and on search results page, one can either search in _one_ space, or in a limited set of spaces, defined by @personal, @favourite etc.
However I'd like to have a macro to search in a set of spaces, defined as a list of spaces in the macro configuration, or by providing a space category.
I expect to improve the search results quality significantly, when e.g. searching only in spaces with the category "marketing" or so.
Is there an add-on that provides such a macro? Or is it easy to create a user macro for that?
Thanks!
Thanks Shannon.
The CQL works fine, and it can be added to some macros that have cql parameters, e.g. the search results macro or contentByLabel you linked to.
However, the livesearch macro does not have a cql parameter, but only a "space key' parameter which only accepts one space.
Maybe it would work to wrap the livesearch macro into a user macro that adds some SQL to what the user has entered?
That might be possible, but unfortunately I'm not too familiar with writing User Macros myself.
Hoping that someone here will be able to provide more details on that!
Regards,
Shannon

Henning,
There's a feature request to be able to do this in LiveSearch macro, which might be of interest to you:
There are a few workarounds listed there on how to search for more than one space using CQL, and I believe you could apply that logic to this macro:
I believe that just shows search results for the parameters you provide it, but there's also discussion on a thread below on how to use CQL in a User Macro:
Can you have a look there and let me know if you have any questions about it?
