I would like to make it easier for my customers to navigate from the 'help desk' webpage where they submit technical request to the wiki/pages webpage where they see the page tree and can navigate between How To Articles
It is easy enough to navigate from how to articles web page back to help desk but not the other way round, I cannot see where to add a link to the help desk

is this Help Desk a JIRA application? If yes you can add a gadget with the How to Articles hyperlink in JIRA's Dashboard...
