Add to page history when attached Word document is updated through Companion

Hi, 

I have a ton of pages that have Excel or Word files attached. 

Sometimes attached files are being updated within the page, directly through Atlassian Companion. Unfortunately, the change is not added to the page history (but only to the attachment history), which I specifially need for one of my workflow add-ins to work properly. 

Long story short: when an attached file is edited through Atlassian Companion, I need that to be added to the page history and not just to the attachment history.

Any ideas/suggestions how I can make that happen?

You would need to work with your team to change their update process.  You might be able to use scriptrunner for Confluence to make it happen but I have not done something like that before with that app.
