My Confluence instance has a LDAP user directory configured. The service account used for this is not what I want and I would like to change it. The problem I am running into is:
I cannot, by design, use an account that is drawn from the LDAP directory, on the (logical grounds) that I could lock myself out. Fair enough; I need a user account with the appropriate system administrator level of access that is not an LDAP user.
The problem is, I cannot create a user account specific to Confluence. An attempt to use the "Add User" interface in Confluence Admin never completes. The "Create" button just does nothing, no report, no failure notice....zip.
I am not sure what log I ought to look at to begin troubleshooting this, but it occurs to me there might be a directory issue that is causing this problem.
Hi Quijybo,
It should be possible to add a user to Confluence's internal directory - you might be running into a bug or a configuration issue.
This will probably require some debugging work, best done with our support team. Please contact our support team via our Support Portal. If you have never used our support services before, you'll have to sign up.
Let us know what the issue was here, once you figure it out, so other users can see what the issue was if they experience something similar.
