Admin hierarchy

Hi guys,

im new in Confluence and try to learn it. Can anyone tell me the Admin heirarchy?

Because i have the Problem, that some Tutorials show me some Buttons, who dont exist in my Confluence.

We need to be careful about what you're looking at.

On Server Confluence, you have an Operating System admin, Confluence Admins (who have two powers - System and Application admin), and Confluence Space admins. 

Cloud Server is the similar, but

• You don't care about the OS admin, as you don't have it.
• You don't care about the System part of the Confluence admin role, as you don't have it.
• You additionally have Site admins who can set up Confluence admins but don't have to be Confluence admins (the Site refers to the overall Cloud)

So, you do need to be looking at the right docs and that can be confusing, especially around the Confluence admin role - if you're reading server docs but using a Cloud system, you are going to find things are "missing" because the Server admins have more access than the Cloud ones.

The question becomes "what system are you running" and "what docs are you looking at"?
