Allow user to sync AD user directory without granting him administrator permissions

Currently, we use AD-back users directory in Confluence. It is often, that we need to refresh (Synchronize) users with AD from Confluence Admin interface.

Is it possible, to somehow allow a particular user do the Synchronization, without adding him/her to confluence-administrators group, thus granting an admin access to the whole server?

No, you have to be an admin.

Although I'd question why you think you have to do this so often.  Have you tried increasing the frequency of the routine synchronisation?
