Allowing the user to upload an image when using my template

I am creating a template for people to create a page of their own.  I would like to add the ability for a user to upload an image into a section I designate.  So I would like to add a button or link that the user can click on, allowing them to then upload an image into that section.

I would also like to do this with video and audio as well, allowing the user to upload a video or audio file into a section I designate as well.
