Anchor links behaving poorly

cv November 22, 2022

The documentation for Anchor make it sound easy...

Yet the behavior is totally incoherent compared to what is described:

  - no: adding #AnchorName to the end of the page URL does not load that page with the Anchored section at the top or in the visible window..

 - when linking to an anchor in the same document that has multiple versions, clicking on that link jumps back in time to an older version of the page (the link uses a pageId, not the current page...)

I saw other report for the same with claim that the user wasn't using the latest version of the editor and points to the "new documentation" for the feature that just list the steps I followed to create the anchor and link to it...

How can something that simple and basic be so broken?

Hi @cv

Looks like you are affected by the below bug:

An anchor link's name changes after editing the page with Collaborative Editing switched on or set to limited

I suggest you please upgrade to the fixed versions i.e., 7.4.8, 7.81 or higher versions.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Aamir
