Anchors do not work across pages

Amy Hogan May 31, 2018

I have followed all the instructions but when I try to link to an anchor in another page it takes me to the top of the page and not the anchor.  Please advise when this will  be resolved.

I could not reproduce the behavior you are describing on Confluence 6.3.1 or Confluence 6.9. However, our bug tracker reveals that we have done a lot of work on anchor bugs in the past so this could be a new one.

To help me reproduce the issue, please provide the storage format from both the page with the link and the page with the anchor. It may be worthwhile to create test pages in order to avoid sharing your wiki content or posting a long page.

To get the storage format:

  • Click on the ellipsis (…) in the top right-hand corner of the page and select View Storage Format from the dropdown.
  • Copy the storage format to a file and post it in a code block to this thread. This will allow us to recreate the pages locally and see if we get the same behavior.

Thanks,

Ann
