Anonymous access to a Confluence space, not site

Robb Duke July 27, 2023

I'd like to make a single space accessible to anonymous users, as a sort of knowledge base for our software product. We have many other spaces that are internal and we do not want available. Can I edit permissions to make a single space anonymously accessible, while protecting the others?

Hi @Robb Duke

There's a new guest feature with Connect Cloud. You'll find all the instructions for how to give guest access to one space here: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/invite-guests-for-external-collaboration/

To enable access to your site, you must first allow anonymous access at the site level and then configure space permissions accordingly. If anonymous access is disabled at the site level, you cannot make it publicly accessible for a single space—only logged-in users can access the space.

It's important to fully comprehend the anonymous configuration process for both site and spaces to avoid exposing private content due to misconfiguration. Have a look at the article below that explains the nuances of configuring your site for anonymous access.
