Any way to have Activity Stream gadget show just today's activity?

We are using Confluence 4.3.2. We would like the activity stream gadget to only show the current day's activity. I can type in "today" in the filter, but it then saves the filter with the curent date which doesn't show the right data the next day. I couldn't find any variables or options in the documentation.
