Anyone has an idea about "osd.action" within Confluence URL?

Hello there,

Recently we found out that there are a lot of accesses to <Confluence URL>/opensearch/osd.action.

Anyone has an idea what's this URL about?

We are using Confluence 3.4.

We appreciate your input.

Regards,

Daisuke Niwa

osd.action delivers an opensearch descriptor once it has checked that you're a valid user of Confluence.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenSearch does a good job of explaining the technology.

http://www.opensearch.org/Documentation/Frequently_asked_questions Might also be useful.

It can be used for another of things, but mainly, it lets you put Confluence search in your browser so that you can search it from the small search window on the upper right.
