Argh! Safari beachballing when viewing pages

I've noticed safari (6.x) beachballing big time when viewing pages. I've upgraded to 5.3.1 and removed suspected plugins, but still get the browser to beachball frequently for at least a couple of seconds.

It gotta be loading the RTE for comments but I have not nailed it down, anybody seen this problem before?

I get this too. With the hosted version of both Jira and Confluence. Particularly after submitting a comment on a page or issue. Very, very annoying.
