At the same time as the parent issue, I want to close all the statuses of the child issue.

Use Jira automation to change the status of the parent issue to closed, and at the same time set the status of all child issues to closed.

When closing a child issue, it is mandatory to enter a comment.
At that time, is it possible to close the child issue by entering a comment when the parent issue is closed?

Hi @koutarou ishibashi

I assume this is using a validator in the Workflow?

As far as I know, this isn't possible - the rule will fail as the validator requires a comment during the transition, not before/after it.

I would either...

  • Have an additional transition to "Done" - and limit its availability to just Automation (eg. use a condition to ensure user is in the atlassian-addons Project Role), without the comment validator, or...
  • If you have an open workflow (all <> all transitions), use an app with more powerful validators to provide IF/ELSE validation - i.e
    • IF user is Automation for Jira, comment is not needed
    • ELSE comment is required

^ In effect, you need a method for Automation to circumnavigate the comment validator.
