Atlassian Windows service not Starting Automatically

Hi Team,

Atlassian Windows service does not Start Automatically after the Server reboot.  Start-up is set as Automatic and Log ON is tested with both the local system account and domain account. 

Any other settings need to be enable to start the service automatically after the Server reboot?>

• Does the user running the service have the permissions that they need to start the service? --> Yes the account has ADMIN permissions
• Are you using the correct version of Java?  Is the service pointed to the correct version? -->Yes we are using Java Development Kit 11
• Are you running as a 32-bit application? - we are in 64 bit

TL:DR

If you are operating the database server on the same machine as an application like Confluence or Jira, then you need to make sure that the database is started and running BEFORE the other application such as Confluence or Jira is starting.  In windows this can be done by setting the SQL service to start automatically, and then choosing a delayed automatic start for any SQL dependent application.

@syalamarthi It could be a number of items causing the issue.  Here are a few things to check:

• Does the user running the service have the permissions that they need to start the service?
• Are you using the correct version of Java?  Is the service pointed to the correct version?
• Are you running as a 32-bit application?

@syalamarthi as @Andy Heinzer mentioned you need to make sure that the DB is running before your service starts.  Can you start the service manually?

Our DB is in a different DB server, so no dependency on this Application Server restart.

Are you able to start the service manually?  What are you seeing in the windows logs?  Are there any errors around the service?
