Audit log for Confluence Database

Is there a way in which Audit log can be maintained for Confluence database ; giving us list of users who have edited/modified  the database . Something like audit trails in Rational DB's like(updated by, updated on ) or any other versioning?

This is a good idea, although there isn't a feature like that in Confluence. Maybe it will come in the future, for now its not in the roadmap: https://www.atlassian.com/roadmap/cloud?selectedProduct=confluence&
