Authentication for POST request to REST API from Confluence Plugin

Hi,

I am writing a Confluence plugin in Java in which I want to retrieve some Infomation through a call of the REST API of another Confluence plugin. The call shall be created in Java. Do I have to authenticate and how can I do this without knowing the username/password of the current user?
