Automatically append wildcard "*" to search term in extended results?

Is there a way to automatically show results of all words starting with the term in the extended results without adding the wildcard "*"?

Ralph,

It is not possible to configure the default behavior of Confluence search.

I did find a feature request similar to your need here:
