Confluence has been crashing occasionally and Atlassian support suggests moving to an instance with more memory, or at least with system logs enabled so we can identify the cause of the crash. Currently I'm using an m1.small, which has been discontinued.
Any suggestions on instance type? This is a very low-traffic server.
I tried it and even 1Gb on memory on the system was scarce for all resources that had to run (including non-Confluence resources). My instance is my public documentation, with a hundred visits a day, so very low-traffic too. I took a 2Gb/2CPU droplet for $20/month from another provider and Confluence runs fine for a correct price.
Since you've advertised Amazon EC2 in your title, I'll advertise my provider: Here's a $10 voucher for them (disclosure: That gives me a rebate too obviously).

I know it's been a long time, but which other provider was it?
