COMALA - Why a parameter can only be required once?

Hi,

I am trying to make the comment field required for a specific state, which I was able to accomplish it using requiredparams. However, the comment parameter that I created is required only once, but I need it to be updated every time the the document is transitioned to that state. 

1) Is there a better and user-friendlier way to have the parameter updated as much as needed?

I saw the option to click on the three dots on the top right of the workflow popup window, but this is not user friendly at all. I would have to create documentation to teach the users to take more steps just to capture comments every time a document is transitioned through a state.

2) Can the required comment field be configured only to a specific workspace? i
