Can I set the "sort = modified" for Page tree (Sidebar)

By Confluence 5.10 you have the ability to define the sidebar entirely by yourself. This means you could hide the default page tree and add your own with that parameter. I am not certain you have any way of controlling this before that version of Confluence.
