Can I use a Wildcard SSL with Confluence?

Shelley Cook December 9, 2013

Can we use a wildcard SSL with a confluence installation?

I'm trying to use an existing SSL instead of purchasing a new one speciafically for confluence from a third party provider, as well as avoid using a self-signed certificate which may cause warnings when connecting because it’s not trusted.

I dont know why not ... it's the same install procedure as installing regular SSL certs on tomcat.

If possible, consider installing an apache in front of tomcat-confluence and connect with mod_jk or mod_proxy to manage all the SSL/subdomains/redirecting in the apache, instead of doing that in the tomcat cfg.
