Seems like when they "simplified" the editor in Confluence, Atlassian has broken some functionality - for example, it now seems impossible to create in-page anchor links within a template.
Let's say I have a template, and somewhere in the middle of it I have a complex term that is defined in an appendix towards the bottom of the page. Seems pretty simple, I would just create an anchor at the place where I define the term, and then insert a link of the form #anchor as a superscript on the complex term.
- But Atlassian has removed the Anchor macro
- But we can't use a heading anchor, which has the form #pagename-heading (because the page name isn't known yet, in a template)
So... out of luck?
Doesn't it seem that by designing for the lowest common denominator, Atlassian has made more advanced work much harder or even impossible?
Page templates were horribly broken in the 'new' editor (January, wasn't it?). I was just searching to see how broken when I came across this. A real shame - they were powerful. I don't know how many hours I'm going to waste trying to find how much functionality I need to remove before I get one working again.
So - sorry if this doesn't actually answer your question, but I feel your pain.
