Cannot access confluence after upgrade

Tim Tidwell April 9, 2019

I am trying to plan for a physical server migration and have been testing the process to restore a confluence instance from a backup.  The first step is to restore to the same version, the migrate to the next  "recommended" version.   I am able to get the very large backup file restored and get past some admin password issues so that I basically now have a clone.   I now want to migrate to a newer version.  I am currently at 4.2.13 and have tried to migrate to 5.10.9 (and eventually even higher).  The migration install process completed without error, but once  Confluence starts, I am not able to access via web browser.   It just gives a blank page.   Seems there have been other with similar results, but I haven't been able to find an answer that fixes this issue for me.

I would suggest clearing your cache since in the past there have been users using Chrome that this occurred and was fixed with a quick cache clear.  If that does not work then check this out as it is most likely the issue - https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/getting-a-blank-or-white-screen-when-accessing-confluence-via-browser-318669136.html
