Carry forward action items to a subsequent meeting templated page

We're starting to use Confluence in our organisation and we're pleased to see an organic uptake in usage for users.

Obviously we need to understand Confluence and its idiosyncracies, but a particular issue has been highlighted for the Meeting Notes template.

For example, when we create a Meeting Page from the Meeting Template (or Blueprint, we're still learning) for our team meetings, we have action points on each one. Our issue is that if you consider:

  1. Action point is made for User A in Meeting 1. It appears on User A's task list.
  2. User A completes the task
  3. But we need to reflect this completed task in subsequent meetings, to indicate it has been completed. Currently, we have to re-create actions in each meeting whilst they are outstanding.

Is there any way where we can have action points from a previous meeting carried forward to a subsequent meeting (whether or not it was completed) without having to duplicate the action? Ideally, once the action has been completed, it should "fall off" future meetings' notes.

I'm not sure that this is available "out of the box", but any usage scenarios/experience you can offer would be appreciated.

You can add a Task Report macro to your meeting page. and set it's task status to report completed only
