Completing Task items without edit access

Is it possible to allow users to complete tasks that are assigned to them WITHOUT giving them edit access to a page?

no, this is not possible, since you have to "edit" the task on the page containing the task.

Bummer. I just have users who have tasks that are assigned  to them in meeting in Spaces that I do not want them having edit access to. So what I have to do is give them temporary access to the space in order for them to clear their tasks, then I take away the edit permissions.
