Goal is to copy a whole tree of pages within the same space and set proper names to the copies (and do a lot other things but that is not of interest here).
One way would be to copy and rename each page in a distinct transaction.
Unfortunately trying to copy a single page results into an error (since the name is not modified and of course page names have to be unique in the space). Yet if we set the "Also copy page children" option, the page title is slightly modified (by numbers in brackets, two times...), no error occurs and one could track the new pages quite easily (return value from IFTTT macro). This works for pages without children as well as for pages having children. But for the latter we would copy the whole tree.
Best idea would be using the copy page children option only on the the top level page (we have a top-,master-,detail-structure).
But, in this case: How can I identify the child pages (I guess the IFTTT macro only return the new top level page)?
By the way, this scenario looks like something made for using templates. But the users who should be able to modify the "template pages" are not allowed to create or change space templates. So this is not an option.
Hi
When copying child pages the "conflict resolution" strategy used by Confluence is applied and that is why you see the titles get appended with sequence numbers
