I see it isn't even on the list. :(
I can't even find it at the plugin exchange.

Is 4.0 ready for production or should I have chosen a previous version?

That was to answer your second question. My opinion on your new question is Feedback on confluence 4.0 - your opinion . It will still be a while before some of the critical plugins are all done (more than compatibility mode). I know the customware guys are working on Reporting and other plugins, customware site might have some more updates.
